​​​​HOUSTON – ​​​Two years after property along Washington Ave. traded hands, locally based Midway Cos. has finally revealed its plans for Buffalo Heights.

The first phase of Buffalo Heights will consist of a four-acre mixed-use development at the corner of Washington Ave. and S. Heights Blvd.

H-E-B Grocery Co. will open a 96,000-sf store as the anchor tenant for that phase. Other plans include a five-story, 232-unit luxury apartment complex, 37,000 sf of office space, and 2,000 sf of ground-floor retail.

BKR Memorial II LLC owns the property. The development team includes:

  • Ziegler Cooper Architects, design architect and architect of record;
  • Kudela & Weinhiemer Landscape Architects, landscape architect​; and 
  • Mayfield Ragni Studio, interior designer.
