BOERNE – A Dallas-based developer has teamed with local investors to buy a 26.58-acre site at the intersection of Hwy. 46 and Herff Rd. in Boerne—a suburb in northwestern San Antonio.

The joint venture is planning an extensive mixed-use development that will include a 250-unit luxury apartment complex, street-level retail and lofts, as well as a repurposed 6,000-sf home that will serve as a high-end restaurant and entertainment venue.

The project—unofficially named The Villages at Herff—will be the first true mixed-use development for Boerne, and is slated to break ground in early to mid-2017.

In addition to preliminary plans for the project, about eight acres along the main frontage road will developed into for-sale or for-lease pad sites to accommodate even more retail into the master plan.
