New hotel approved for Harlingen

​​​HARLINGEN – The city commission has approved an incentive for the development of a hotel set to open in winter 2018.

The Qube Hotel Group will receive city-donated, right-of-way property to develop the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott. The hotel will be between Ed Carey Dr. and New Hampshire St. on the westbound side of I-69.

Construction of the 95-room hotel, which will employ 25 to 30, will begin in February.
