REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Data center giant Equinix Inc. has acquired 29 data centers from Verizon Communications Inc. in a $3.6 billion deal, which includes data centers in Irving and Richardson.
The all-cash deal, slated to close by mid-2017, will add 2.4 million sf of gross data center space to the company's global footprint.
At least three of the 29 centers in the portfolio are in North Texas, with two in Richardson and one in Irving.
Evercore, J.P. Morgan Securities LLC, and Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP advised Equinix in the deal.
