CORPUS CHRISTI - A check for more than $175,000 was presented to Del Mar College for a program that provides free training to veterans. It is called the Veterans and Industry Partnership — or VIP.

The program provides free industrial jobs training for veterans at Del Mar College and it could not be happening at a better time as industrial growth is driving a demand for skilled workers.

The VIP program is free for veterans who qualify. It will continue to be free for as many as 100 more vets thanks to the $175,445 grant presented by Texas Workforce Commissioner Hope Andrade.
