El Paso: a new view without a yard
EL PASO – Desert View Homes, one of El Paso’s largest home builders, has opened a unique West Side development.
A month ago, it opened The Boulders, a 59-home project on ten acres on Westwind, near Belvidere.
It is unique not only because it’s an in-fill project sandwiched between a large shopping center and veterinarian’s clinic, but because it offers new, single-family homes grouped around common courtyards and two-car garages built into the rear of the two-story homes.
The homes have no front or back yards. They have tiny side yards that can be turned into a patio or small garden.
"With seven homes under contract in less than a month from its opening, indications are good that a market exists in El Paso for this type of single-family development," said Randy O’Leary, Desert View president.
The sides of each home in The Boulders is separated from their neighbors by about ten feet, about the same as in a regular subdivision, according to O’Leary.
The three-bedroom homes in The Boulders sell for $168,210 to $177,580 and up when extras are added.
