SA public library? Find it at the Y-M-C-A!

​​​​​SAN ANTONIO – The Mays Family YMCA and Potranco Branch Public Library was recently unveiled at 8764 Highway 151.

It’s the city’s first branch library within a YMCA.

The Northwest Side facility was built with $4 million from the 2012–2017 bond project to serve the growing Alamo Ranch community.

The YMCA part of the building is 53,000 sf, including an indoor swimming pool, teaching kitchen, gym and classrooms, among other facilities.

It also houses the new 5,000-sf library, which has an exterior courtyard. In addition to books, the library includes an outdoor reading space, public computing lab with broadband internet, laptops and Wi-Fi.

The branch is the San Antonio Public Library Systems’ 29th location and the 12th YMCA location in Greater San Antonio.
