San Marcos acreage slated for master-planned community

​​​SAN MARCOS – Construction begins this month on Trace, a $475 million mixed-use project at Posey Rd. and I-35.

Highpointe Communities is building the 420-acre project, which will have 1,000 single-family homes and 850 apartments.

Trace will eventually have a seven-acre park, elementary school, fire station, up to one million sf of corporate campus space on 43 acres, and two retail centers on nine and 13 acres. ​
