NEW BRAUNFELS - As New Braunfels Independent School District (NBISD) grows, so does the need for space for the district’s administration. The New Braunfels ISD board of trustees approved the purchase of property located at 1000 N. Walnut Ave. for $4.85 million.

The district purchased a 26,036-sf building formerly owned and occupied by Wells Fargo.

The board approved the purchase of property at 1082 N. Walnut Ave., adjacent to the old Wells Fargo building. That property, 1.575 acres, includes a 12,000-sf building known as Seele Plaza. It was purchased for $1.75 million.

The timeline for renovating the buildings and relocating some administrative offices will depend on existing leases for the buildings. New Braunfels ISD plans to occupy half of Seele Plaza first to make room at the Education Center for additional staff.

The plans for the Wells Fargo building are in the initial planning phases.
