Swanky SkyHouse tower welcomes first Houston residents
HOUSTON – Novare Group Inc. has opened its second SkyHouse-branded luxury apartment tower in downtown Houston.
The Atlanta-based multifamily developer finished SkyHouse Main, a 24-story, 338-unit tower at 1725 Main St., just south of its first downtown Houston project, SkyHouse Houston.
The first residents of SkyHouse Main have moved in.
Common-area amenities include a “SkyDeck” on the 24th floor with a club room, fitness center, a pool, outdoor grill and fire pit overlooking downtown Houston.
Novare Group’s SkyHouse apartment projects in Houston have attracted working professionals who are “renters-by-choice.”
These residents choose to rent because they want to live near their workplace. as well as restaurants, bars, public transportation, sporting arenas and cultural institutions near downtown Houston.
Both SkyHouse Houston and SkyHouse Main took advantage of the City of Houston’s Downtown Living Initiative, a downtown revitalization program that awards downtown developers tax breaks of $15,000 per multifamily unit.
Nine residential projects are now under construction in downtown Houston, much of it spurred by the tax incentive.
