FORT WORTH – Four initial homebuilders have been announced for the 7,200-acre Walsh community near I-30 and I-20.

David Weekley Homes, Drees Custom Homes, Highland Homes, and Village Homes were selected for the first phase, which will consist of 580 homes. Model home construction begins next month.

Lots will range from 3,800-sf to just shy of an acre. Prices will start in the upper $200,000s. Model homes will be completed in spring 2017, with presales beginning early next year.

The project was named after the family that owns the land. It will include more than 15,000 homes. Residents will be in the Aledo Independent School District, with a new AISD elementary school scheduled to open in the development for the 2017-18 school year.
