​​​FRISCO – Construction has started on the first building in the 242-acre Frisco Station, the biggest development in the "$5 Billion Mile."

Work began earlier this week on a seven-story, 228,000-sf office building that will open next August. It sits on the north side of Warren Pkwy. across from the Cowboys’ The Star office, sports, retail, and​ hotel complex.

Frisco Station will include 5.5 million sf of offices; 2,400 apartments; 300,000 sf of retail, restaurant, and entertainment space; and 650 hotel ro​oms. There will also be a​ 40-acre medical park.

Hillwood is building the development in partnership with Van Trust Real Estate and the Rudman Partnership. The Rudman family has owned the land since 1962.

The project was designed by HKS. The general contractor is J.E. Dunn Construction.
