BRYAN – Ground has broken on the new Fire Station 2. Construction is projected to be finished within a year.

The new station will be 28,000 sf and will sit on nearly three acres on Maloney Ave., a quick turn off Texas Ave.

This project, which costs $6.3 million and is funded by the City of Bryan, is projected to be completed no later than October 2017.

The new station will have more space for offices, equipment, trucks and firefighters. Six to eight firefighters will be on site at all times in the new location.

Construction crews already have begun working on the site.
