CORPUS CHRISTI – Del Mar College opened the Emergency Training Building on its West Campus.
The 20,000-sf Federal Emergency Management Agency Safety Shelter, or dome, will fulfill dual roles as an educational facility and safety shelter for the city’s Emergency Management Center during emergencies.
The project cost about $5.3 million.
The facility will be used to house city staff and first responders coordinating citywide efforts during an emergency.
