FORT BEND COUNTY - Rise Communities LLC has completed the amenity village for a master-planned community south of the Bayou City.
Meridiana, a 2,700-acre community, is near the interchange of SH 288 and Hwy. 6 in Manvel and Iowa Colony. The developer announced that the lakefront amenity village is complete, and the community’s grand opening will be held this spring.
The amenity village includes:
• a family pool and cabanas, lap pool, and splash pad with slides;
• a fitness center;
• an amphitheater for outdoor concerts;
• a café;
• a fishing pier and outdoor play area with all-weather ping pong and foosball tables;
• shaded sitting areas and a central lawn;
• a glass-walled conservatory set over the water;
• an ambassador yacht for Meridiana canine ambassador Soleil, the community’s golden retriever.
Additionally, the community will also include "educational-oriented amenities.”
Rise Communities will develop outdoor “learning labs” that will teach residents and their children about the earth’s movement, the solar system and wildlife habitats. There also will be interactive exhibits, including a greenhouse.
Alvin Independent School District recently opened Meridiana Elementary adjacent to the amenity village, and the district plans to open a 10,000-seat stadium in the community in fall 2018. The district bought 98 acres for the stadium this past summer.
Meridiana will offer homes from the $230,000s to the $500,000s.
