FORT WORTH - New retail growth is expected after the De La Vega Group's purchase of Presidio North. The group plans to develop the site into a 500,000-sf retail, restaurant, hotel and entertainment project.

The 90-acre sale is the largest of a retail development site in Tarrant County year-to-date.

Dubbed The Citadel, the site is located at the southwest corner of I-35 West and Heritage Trace Pkwy. in Fort Worth's Alliance Corridor.

De La Vega anticipates site work and horizontal development will begin in early 2017 with delivery around spring 2018.

The corridor boasts the popular Alliance and Presidio Town Centers, which include Best Buy, Dick's Sporting Goods, Cinemark Theater, Costco, Target and Winco Foods.

When De La Vega's project is completed, the total retail space built in the North Fort Worth submarket will exceed 2 million sf.
