Austin’s always been ‘Progressive,’ insurer to hire

​​AUSTIN – Progressive Corp. plans to hire 150-plus people for its South Austin location at 7301 Metro Center Drive, near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. 

The company is hiring for sales and customer service roles.

It already employs about 1,500 people in the Texas capital.

It’s part of a nationwide hiring push by Progressive, which plans to add more than 1,300 workers across the country by the end of 2016. 

The company employs about 26,500 and reported 2015 revenue of $20.8 billion.
