FORT WORTH - Tanger Factory Outlet Centers Inc. plans to get started on a 350,000-sf retail center, which will bring more than 80 upscale retailers to this part of the region.

The new upscale outlet mall at I-35W and SH 114 in Fort Worth is slated to get underway within days.

As part of an economic incentive agreement, the outlet giant plans to invest at least $70 million to build the center and will employ hundreds of employees.

Earlier this year, Tanger had signed real estate leases with Nike, Levi's, Banana Republic, Gap, Skechers, Old Navy, Express, Carter's and Oshkosh.

In all, the new outlet mall is expected to employ more than 900 full- and part-time employees upon opening in 2017.
