​​​EL PASO – PGTEX has established a manufacturing operation on the city’s far east side. Th​is is the first North American facility for the Chinese company, which manufactures materials for the wind power industry.

The company has leased a 50,320-sf facility at 12135 Esther Lama and expects to triple in size by 2020.

According to company spokesperson Sharon Xue, the company has invested $6.7 million in the facility and will invest an additional $11 million over the next four years to keep up with growth in North America’s renewable energy market.​
PGTEX will employ 150 in El Paso by 2020. Most will be hired from the region.
