HOUSTON - Retailers absorbed 810,000 sf in third quarter 2016 (3Q 2016) bringing the annual absorption total to 2.8 million sf—the strongest absorption level since 2000, according to CBRE's Houston Retail MarketView 3Q 2016

It is likely Houston will reach 3 million sf of net absorption by the end of 2016, making it the strongest year for retail expansion in over 15 years.

The trend of record high occupancy continues across Houston as the average occupancy increased to 94.3 percent in 3Q 2016.

Occupancy levels will remain at this level due to the heightened leasing activity.
