FMC with cars in mind for Generation Park campus
HARRIS COUNTY – The new corporate campus of Houston-based FMC Technologies Inc. is just the first phase of the master plan at Generation Park.
The oil field manufacturing company moved more than 1,000 employees over the summer into 369,000 sf of office space and 640,000 sf of industrial space.
FMC bought 173 acres from McCord Development, the developer behind Generation Park in northeast Houston, in 2014.
The first phase of FMC’s campus, designed by Gensler, is only on 71 acres. Phase one also includes a 2,000-space parking garage and 16 acres of outside storage yards.
Gensler’s Dean Strombom said FMC employees wanted usual amenities such as a fitness center and cafeteria.
One desire from employees that came out as a strong desire was auto servicing. (Being able to get) your car washed and oil changed on campus was seen as something a lot of people would take advantage of something that frees up their Saturday.
