AMARILLO - Construction on the new downtown Xcel Energy office building is entering its final phase—114,000 sf of interior space, valued at $5.8 million is expected to be fully occupied by May 2017.
Retail space along the downtown parking garage is expected to be available for lease in March 2017.
The seven-story structure will be the first large-scale office development in downtown Amarillo since the 1980s.
The new $42 million space is constructed to accommodate up to 525 employees. Xcel Energy currently employs 300 people at its current downtown location.
