SAN ANTONIO - A group of investors plan to build single-family homes and retail on 283 acres of vacant land along US 281 just south of Mitchell Lake.

The investors—16795 Ltd.—are in the early stages of forming their plans for the site, said J.C. Trevino, a Laredo-based lawyer who is one of the partners.

The partnership borrowed $2.1 million from the International Bank of Commerce to buy the property, county records show.
The land is three miles east of the Toyota plant and five miles from a 530-acre master-planned community that local developers recently revived along Medina River.
The investors have been buying and developing other properties in San Antonio for more than 20 years.
