LUBBOCK – Grace Health System will build a new medical center in Lubbock — expanding with a 350,000-sf facility.

A new hospital and a four-story parking garage will be added to the Grace Clinic’s property in the 4500 block of Marsha Sharp Fwy., said Dr. Randy Hickle, Grace Clinic president and CEO.

Hickle said design plans are in the works and should be completed by the end of 2015.

Once construction gets started, he expects the medical center to be completed in 12-18 months.

Hickle said a final cost for the project has not been set and declined to give an estimate.

According to Hickle, Grace Medical Center located at 2412 50th St. will remain open and used by doctors who are already running clinics in the facility and will be used for other services.

Grace’s foundation started with eight doctors on staff eight years ago, but has grown to 52 medical doctors and other providers and currently employs about 537 people.
