DALLAS-FORT WORTH – With growth in North Texas booming, demand for data centers is ramping up.
During the next year more than 730,000 sf of new data center projects are scheduled to open in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, according to the National Data Center Market Report 2Q 2016 by CBRE.
The projects will add 49 megawatts of data center capacity in the area. Currently there are 11 data center projects under construction in the DFW area.
During the first half of the year, tenants took about 6.7 megawatts of additional data center space and vacancy in these projects fell to 20.5 percent.
The DFW area is one of the fastest growing data center markets in the country. North Texas saw record-setting data center leasing activity in 2015.
