GRAPEVINE – Gaylord Texan Resort will unveil plans and break ground on a $120 million expansion project.

Expected to be complete in 2019, the construction will add more than 300 new guest rooms and 86,000 sf of meeting space, bringing the hotel’s total to 1,811 guest rooms and 490,000 sf of meeting space.
The cost of the project is estimated at $383,000 per key.
The project, first announced in January, will make the Gaylord the nation’s second-largest non-gaming convention center hotel when measured by total self-contained exhibit and meeting space.
It will also bump the hotel, currently the region’s third-largest, to North Texas’ second-largest lodging when measured by number of guest rooms—trailing only the Sheraton Dallas Hotel, which has 1,840 rooms.
An annual $1 million hotel occupancy tax rebate over the next ten years, for a total of $10 million in incentives, is also being extended by the City of Grapevine.
