BROWNSVILLE - Residents of Brownsville seeking a convenient moving and self-storage facility will soon have a newly renovated U-Haul store to meet their needs.
The acquisition of the 106,784-sf facility was driven by U-Haul Company’s Corporate Sustainability initiatives.
U-Haul Moving & Storage on Boca Chica at 2400 Boca Chica Blvd. began offering truck and trailer rentals, U-Box portable moving and self-storage containers, and other services soon after acquiring the Burlington Coat Factory site in February.
Extensive renovations will continue over the next two years as nearly 1,500 indoor and outdoor self-storage units of various sizes—climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled—are built on the 12.18-acre property.
U-Haul‘s adaptive reuse of existing buildings reduces the amount of energy and resources required for new-construction materials and helps cities reduce their unwanted inventory of unused buildings.
