HOUSTON – Seventeen acres once owned by basketball star Hakeem Olajuwon have been sold to the University of Houston System for expansion of its downtown campus.
The site is on the banks of White Oak Bayou near the northwest corner of N. Main St. and I-10. UH will build a science and technology building there.
The university purchased the tract for about $13 million from Wellington Fisher, a group that bought the site from Olajuwon a few years ago.
CBRE and JLL handled the sale.
