​HOUSTON - The new international terminal at Hobby Airport has spurred a flurry of commercial development. 

Most recently, it has led to the Houston Marriott South at Hobby Airport launching a multiphase renovation in response to the traffic brought by the new terminal.

The hotel's $1.6 million renovation includes a renovation of most of its common areas. 

The ground-level atrium will be renovated will be gutted to make room for more single, king-sized-bed hotel rooms. 

Downstairs, a new dining area and meeting space dubbed M-Club Lounge will be added.​
