Texas Tech construction for 51,000-SF Permian Basin Health Sciences
ODESSA – The Facilities Committee of the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents approved construction of the new Permian Basin Academic Facility at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at the Permian Basin in Odessa.
The 51,000-sf building will house lecture halls, smaller classrooms, research laboratories, offices, conference areas and additional support space.
The project is expected to be completed May 2018.
These facilities will allow the Permian Basin campus to increase the number of graduate students it accepts for medical and other related health care disciplines.
Dr. Gary Ventolini, regional dean for TTUHSC’s Permian Basin School of Medicine, said plans for the two-story Spanish renaissance building also include gathering and event space to host community-focused outreach activities and Medical Center Hospital functions.
