YOAKUM – Circle Y Saddles Incorporated will bring more than $500,000 in payroll to the Yoakum economy by merging its two locations into one.

The company has a location in Cleveland, Tennessee, and operations of that location will be consolidated into the Yoakum location.

With the consolidation, the company will expand its Yoakum location with a 30,000-sf warehouse used for storage of saddles and distribution.

Construction is slated to start by the end of August and is planned to be completed by Nov. 1 with the expansion fully operational by Jan. 1.

The project will cost about $1.2 million.

The consolidation that will add more working employees in Yoakum is essential in a time when the economy is down.

Yoakum is still suffering from when Tandy Brands, a leather company, closed in 2010 resulting in a loss of more than 200 manufacturing jobs.

The number of jobs at the Yoakum location will increase from 72 to 87 after the consolidation.

The company also has between 20 and 30 remote employees who are salesmen, administration and administration support.
