GRAPEVINE - A third water park resort is coming to Grapevine after its city council approved a ten-year incentive package for the $330 million project.

Stand Rock Hospitality, a Wisconsin development company, announced that it will begin the first phase of the resort in 2017.

Once completed, it will have 820 suites and 200 condominiums, along with amenities like miniature golf, laser tag and indoor and outdoor water parks.

The property will be located on 33 acres of Grapevine's 185-acre development near Grapevine Mills, Legoland Discovery Center, and the Sea Life Grapevine Aquarium.

According to the Star-Telegram, the resort will be on what is known as the Palmeiro Tract, a parcel of land that the city bought in 2013 from former Texas Rangers player Rafael Palmeiro.

The new resort will be near two of the region's mainstay attractions, Great Wolf Lodge and the Gaylord Texan Resort.

Earlier this year, Gaylord Texan started its $120 million hotel expansion, which includes a recently-opened $5 million water play structure and 303 additional guest rooms.

The resort is expected to create more than 1,500 jobs during construction and 1,000 jobs annually once it is built.

Stand Rock Hospitality is headquartered in Wisconsin Dells, a popular Midwest tourist destination that bills itself as the "Waterpark Capital of the World."
