Wowing Waco! Legends Crossing adding Healthcare Resort
WACO – A new place in Legends Crossing offers a wine bar, gourmet food, massages and an anti-gravity treadmill that makes users feel as if they’re walking on air.
But Healthcare Resort at 5801 Crosslake Pkwy. is not a weekend getaway for those wanting to leave their cares at home.
It could become the residence of those needing nursing care or rehabilitation following heart attacks or hip-replacement surgery who also crave pampering.
The 75,000-sf facility features 30 assisted-living apartments and 86 skilled-nursing units.
The facility has been receiving inspections from the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services.
If inspectors like what they see, the $17 million facility likely will begin accepting patients, which the staff calls “guests,” within two to three weeks.
Residents of Healthcare Resort pay $3,100 to $3,800 a month, depending on the level of services.
Staffers include physical, occupational and speech therapists, “and we will have our own medical team and a 24-hour nursing service,” spokeswoman Tracy Smith said.
This is the fifth Healthcare Resort-style facility The Ensign Group of California has opened in the United States, and the second in Texas, the other being in Plano.
Growth in the 158-acre Legends Crossing development on SH 6 near I-35 has picked up momentum, leaving only 14 acres available.
