Four-star hotel shines in Austin’s fastest growing ‘burb
GEORGETOWN – The opening of the Sheraton Georgetown Texas Hotel & Conference Center at 1101 Woodlawn Ave. is a major milestone for the fast-growing suburb north of Austin.
The 222-room Sheraton is an economic milestone for the nation’s fastest-growing City of at least 50,000 people, which has watched its population boom for years and now adds a signature facility to host the conferences and business people needed to capitalize on that growth.
The property is co-owned by Houston-based Hines and Novak Brothers, the Georgetown company that is developing the larger mixed-use community of which the hotel is a part, The Summit at Rivery Park.
Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is owned by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc.
Starwood is in the process of merging with Marriott International Inc.
The Georgetown hotel marks the 15th Sheraton location in Texas and the second in the Austin area, after the Sheraton Austin Hotel at the Capitol in downtown.
