HOUSTON - Hogan Lovells, an international law firm, plans to move its Houston location from the Bank of America building to 609 Main in April 2017.

The law firm of Hogan Lovells US LLP has signed a prelease to move its Houston office to 43,000 sf in Hines' 609 Main in spring 2017.

The firm, which is co-headquartered in London and Washington, D.C., currently has its Houston office in downtown's Bank of America building.

Hogan Lovells has roughly 30 lawyers today but expects to have around 40 by move-in time, Bruce Oakley, Hogan Lovells' Houston managing partner, told the Houston Business Journal.

Hogan Lovells will occupy the 42nd and 43rd floors.

The plan is to begin construction on the space in October with an April move-in date, Oakley added.

Hogan Lovells will join another law firm in the building—Chicago-based Kirkland & Ellis LLP, which preleased 62,000 sf on the top floors of 609 Main.

609 Main will have more than 1 million sf of office space once it's completed. The tower will include a rooftop garden with walking trails and outdoor seating on top of a 17-story parking garage.
