Baytown acreage to house oil-processing facility
BAYTOWN – The Woodlands-based midstream company TopSail Energy LP has bought 44 undeveloped acres to build its first facility to recycle and repurpose used motor oil.
The facility will receive and process over 125,000 gallons of used motor oil per day, turning it into products such as fuel for marine vessels and power plants, feedstock for refineries, and additives for home-heating oil and asphalt.
In addition to the facility, nearly 40 acres of the property is being marketed for liquids storage, logistics, and processing opportunities.
The company’s equity sponsor, Dallas-based Tailwater Capital LLC, will provide financing.
TopSail expects to have the facility operating in first quarter 2017.
