IRVING – Two Las Colinas projects will bring new energy to a longtime Irving office and apartment district.
The more than $100 million Water Street project on O’Connor and Lake Carolyn adds more than 60,000 sf of shops and eateries plus more than 300 apartments.
Both developments have been delayed for years but should begin opening in 2017.
JPI has two new apartment communities under construction in the area.
The developer’s 371-unit Jefferson Riverside apartments on the corner of Riverside Dr. and Northwest Hwy. will start opening in early 2017.
And JPI’s Jefferson on Lake Carolyn apartments on Lake Carolyn Pkwy. and California Crossing have 422 units and will open in summer 2017.
Four restaurants—Olivella’s Pizzeria, Twisted Root Burger Bar, Main St. Bistro & Bakery, The Londoner Pub and Planet Sub—have been announced for the waterside retail area.
Additionally, the City of Irving provided millions of dollars in financial incentives to get the Music Factory out of the ground.
Next door to the city’s convention center, the 250,000-sf Music Factory includes an eight-screen Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, 8,000-seat Live Nation indoor/outdoor concert hall, other entertainment venues, restaurants, and specialty eateries.
There is also 100,000 sf of office space that’s fully leased.
Contractor Skanska USA will have the first Music Factory buildings ready summer 2017.
