HOUSTON – Warehouse and distribution space use and demand remain strong and are growing across most submarkets as Houston continues to build on its position as an emerging leader in worldwide logistics.

Localized clusters have felt the drilling decline with varying degrees of impact.

This pain has been balanced, however, by consistent demand generated by Houston’s ports, petrochemical industries, and third party logistics operators.

New building deliveries totaled 25, representing 2.9 million sf, while 66 projects and 11.2 million sf are still under construction.

Additionally, 17 projects broke ground this quarter in Houston, representing 1 million sf.
