HOUSTON - Multifamily developers in Houston have long sought to convey their vision for new apartment projects.
Developers in Houston are dabbling in virtual reality (VR), which gives prospective renters near and far an immersive glimpse of what a new project will look like when it’s finished.
Developers like Greystar, Alliance Residential and The Morgan Group are using VR to showcase their newly finished projects.
Others, like StreetLights Residential, are using the technology to preview their projects under construction.
VR is being adapted for real estate use by technology startups like Helix Media 360 in Houston and longtime architectural rendering companies like M2 Studio out of Dallas.
“Whereas renderings can explain an idea, VR technology allows the user to experience the idea,” said Brian Fannin, a partner at M2 Studio.
