SPRING -  Kroger is in the checkout aisle to open a supermarket in a new development north of Houston.

The planned 14-acre, 123,000-sf Kroger Marketplace will anchor the Spring Pines Shopping Center, which will include other smaller retailers.
Within the new store, the company wants to include a pharmacy and fuel station, along with premium alcohol, food and other items.
The grocer should open at the Westlake Marketplace retail center in August.
Westlake Marketplace is next to Generation Park, a 4,000-acre mixed-use business park located at the northeast corner of Beltway 8.
