SAN ANTONIO - GrayStreet just strengthened its presence along Houston St. with its acquisition of the former children's museum at 305 E. Houston St.

The five-story site is another piece of the downtown checkerboard for the local investment firm.

Now, with the purchase of 43,592-sf property, GrayStreet owns the entire stretch on the north side of the street all the way from the Court Building to the parking lot east of the Kress Building.

While no tenants have been confirmed for the now-vacant property, plans for the building will likely include a mix of retail and office.

GrayStreet last year made one of the biggest property acquisitions in San Antonio history with its purchase of the seven-property Federal Realty portfolio.

Since that acquisition, GrayStreet has been building its footprint in the city's central business district, closing on Travis Park Plaza in late 2015.
