STAFFORD - Sandvik Inc., a Sweden-based engineering group in tooling, materials technology, mining and construction, plans to cut 75 Houston-area jobs over the next year.

The cuts will occur in five phases from Aug. 9, 2016 through April 14, 2017, according to Sandvik’s Workforce Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act letter to the TWC.

The job cuts will be at the Sandvik’s facility at 13023 Trinity Dr. in Stafford and “will ultimately result in the discontinuation of all operations at the facility,” the company said in a letter to the Texas Workforce Commission.

In early May, Sandvik announced it would consolidate its various companies into three business areas.
