HEB Plus opens in New Braunfels
NEW BRAUNFELS – HEB is opening a 120,000-sf HEB Plus store at 2965 I-35.
The store will allow customers to order groceries for curbside pickup. It will also have a gas station, automated car wash, and drive-through pharmacy.
Records with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation put construction costs at almost $14 million.
The city council approved an incentive package last August giving the chain an $800,000 grant and a five-year partial sales tax rebate of up to $700,000, depending on sales, to build the store.
In return, HEB had to pay for drainage and road improvements, hire 108 full-time employees for the store by the end of 2021 (HEB has said the store will employ 350), and maintain a minimum payroll of about $3.9 million.
