ROUND ROCK – Wisconsin-based Kalahari Resorts and Conventions announced plans Wednesday to build a $250 million water park and hotel complex here.
The park will be on 355 acres that the company acquired across from the Dell Diamond minor-league baseball stadium. Kalahari Resorts water parks feature large, enclosed areas for pools and water slides with an African safari theme.
According to a company announcement, the Round Rock location will have a hotel with more than 1,000 guest rooms, restaurants, entertainment center, spa, and convention center.
Williamson County is already the home of the Hawaiian Falls waterpark in Pflugerville, which opened in 2014.
