KATY - Pepperl+Fuchs has broken ground on a new 110,000-sf engineering and distribution center. Cost of construction is estimated at $15.6 million, according to TDLR.
The German-based company will build its signature Solutions Engineering Center on the site located in the West Ten Business Park.
The new building, at 502 Cane Island Parkway, will replace an existing 20,000-sf property in the park.
Lance LaCour, Katy Area Economic Development Council president and CEO, said in a statement that the new facility will create 100 jobs and $25 million in capital investment.
Construction is slated to be completed in the spring 2017.

The Solutions Engineering Center in Houston will be one of six in the world, with others in England, Germany, Singapore, Australia and Ohio.
