​​​​​SPRING BRANCH - Arizona-based Meritage Homes Corp. has purchased 3.2 acres in northwest Houston to build a high-density residential development. 

Meritage bought the Spring Branch land, near the intersection of Gessner Rd. and Clay Rd., from Houston-based MetroNational Corp.

The gated development, called Shadowdale Terrace, will include a mix of two-story, single-family homes, with prices starting in the mid-$300,000s. 

The energy-efficient homes will be 100 percent Energy Star-certified, and they will range from 1,930 sf to 2,870 sf.​
