HOUSTON – The industrial market in Houston is keeping resilient amid the oil slump, and there’s another project on the way.
Houston’s Edge Development Partners is working to develop International Tech Park Houston on 72 acres in northeast Houston, just south of Humble, Edge’s co-founder Christopher Gongolas told the Houston Business Journal.
Upon its completion, the park will have 750,000 sf of space. Edge will kick off development with a 33,000-sf speculative building that should break ground soon, Gongolas said.
The park will have first-class concrete tilt-wall manufacturing showroom space and distribution space. Companies that don’t want to be in the Hwy. 290, I-10, or Ship Channel corridors have shown interest in the park, he said.
The property is on the west side of I-59. The Harris County Appraisal District recently valued the land at $7.8 million, Gongolas said. He’s owned the land since 1998, but the timing hasn’t been right to launch into a development.
