LEAGUE CITY - The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston opened its new 150,000-sf hospital on June 4, 2016.

The three-story hospital, located at 2240 Gulf Fwy. South, will expand UTMB’s outpatient and surgical facilities in the area.

The League City Campus Hospital is part of UTMB’s $82 million commitment to the Bay Area, which UTMB first introduced in 2012.

The master plan for the campus allows for more patient floors, intensive care units, and expanded medical-care space to be added in the future.

The campus will also be home to the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center’s 135,000-sf outpatient cancer center, which is expected to be delivered in 2018.
