BARRINGTON, Ill. – Stoneleigh Companies plans to build 1,430 apartments in Frisco, Carrollton, and Fort Worth.

The developer, in a joint venture with Dallas-based Realty Capital, is under contract to purchase 34 acres along the new Chisholm Trail Pkwy. in Fort Worth, south of Hulen Mall. The deal is slated to close in July, and construction will begin on a three-phase, 600-unit apartment community in spring 2017. The venture is working with the city to move power lines to accommodate the project.

Stoneleigh also will close on 3.6 acres at the northeast corner of Belt Line Rd. and I-35E in July. Construction on the 230-unit apartment community called The Switchyard is expected to begin at the end of the year. EDI International is the project architect on the Carrollton community, and Stoneleigh Construction Co. will likely be the general contractor.

Stoneleigh also will begin work on 600 units at the northeast corner of Main St. and Frisco Blvd. in Frisco next month. The initial phase of the ten-acre property will have 380 apartments. It is slated for completion in February 2017. Next year, Stoneleigh will get underway on the remaining 220 apartments. Waterford at Frisco will be within the 32-acre Frisco Fresh Market development.
