WACO – Dirt Cheap, a Mississippi-based deep discounter, has decided to place a store in Waco in addition to the distribution center it will open to serve its growing Texas presence.

The company’s parent, Channel Control Merchants LLC, has secured a lease on 38,000 sf next to Planet Fitness at 300 N. Valley Mills Drive.

Officials with Dirt Cheap said they did not have a timetable for renovating the building and getting the store open.
Waco real estate agent Pat Farrar, who markets the retail center, said he thinks Dirt Cheap can complete remodeling in time for a store opening in fall 2016, possibly by October.
Dirt Cheap sells name-brand small appliances, housewares, home decor, electronics, furniture, toys and more at discounts of 30 to 90 percent. Its selection of merchandise is constantly changing, as it acquires goods through store closeouts, bankruptcies, overstocks, liquidations and customer returns.
The company’s push into Texas prompted Dirt Cheap to select Waco as the site of a distribution center at 401 Precision Dr., where it has acquired a 200,000-sf building and will invest $1.05 million in capital improvements.
